WER IST KIRK ?
Kirk Baltz is an actor and coach who runs the Los Angeles based acting studio The Actor’s Intensive. Kirk has appeared in feature films such as Reservoir Dogs, Natural Born Killers, Dances with Wolves, and FaceOff, as well as television shows such as 24, Will & Grace, and The Shield. In 2012, he will be appearing in the Taylor Hackford film, Parker, starring Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez. Kirk has 15 years of teaching experience in L.A. and other major cities across U.S. and Europe.
INHALT DES WORKHOPS :
- What is the character's "need"? How is this “need" attained?
- How an actor gains awareness of and releases physical tension.
- Finding the "set givens" so a character's truth can be revealed.
- Creating change within one’s self rather than the character.
Actors work on scene study, monologues and exercises to develop technique. Actors will also gain a better understanding of the differences between acting on stage, acting on camera, and acting in a casting office.
Kirk teaches acting technique to all levels. Using both Method and Meisner based techniques, he helps the actor make clear and specific choices rooted in what he/she is "doing". Each student gains an understanding of what it means to be an artist and create work that is alive and rooted in the truth of each individual actor.
